INSTA Doors Question & Answer
What is the difference between Standard RHINO Doors and Roll-Up Doors?
RHINO swing doors are heavy-duty steel doors that replace or supplement traditional container cargo doors and provide a conventional swinging entry. Roll-up doors open vertically into a compact coil, which saves space in front of the container and allows quick access without swinging doors into traffic areas. The best choice depends on how the container is being used and how much exterior clearance you have at the site.
Can RHINO doors replace damaged OEM container doors?
No. RHINO doors are not able to replace the OEM swing doors. They are specifically designed to install along the corrugated sidewall of the container and provide a new, reliable entry point. The installation guide outlines how to prepare the opening and install the RHINO door so it becomes the primary door system on the container.
Do roll-up doors require welding for installation?
Standard INSTA roll-up door kits are typically installed using a welded or bolt-in frame, depending on the model and installer preference. Many customers weld the steel frame into the container opening for maximum strength, while the door curtain and hardware then bolt to that frame. The product installation guide details the recommended method and any situations where welding is strongly advised.
Are RHINO doors compatible with high cube containers?
RHINO doors can be used on both standard and high cube containers. Please note that for high cube applications an additional drip plate extension is required. P/N 4184
What maintenance is required for steel roll-up doors? Roll-up doors should be kept clean and free of debris in the guides, and moving parts such as hinges, springs, and bearings should be inspected and lubricated periodically. Checking fasteners, seals, and paint or coating for wear will help prevent corrosion and ensure smooth operation. Regular maintenance extends the lifespan of the door and keeps it operating safely in demanding environments.
Are door locksets included or sold separately?
In many cases, door locksets and hardware are sold as separate items so you can choose the exact locking solution you prefer. Some kits may include a basic lockset, while others are designed to be paired with a specific RHINO lockset or container lock box. The inclusions are listed on each product sheet and in the price list, so be sure to review those before ordering.
